Please read these terms carefully before booking a repair with FixGuy. We've written them in plain English so they're easy to understand.

About FixGuy

FixGuy is a local onsite computer repair service based in North Dallas, Texas. We provide computer repair, tech support, and related services to homes and small businesses across Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Carrollton, Richardson, Addison, The Colony, and nearby areas.

When we say "FixGuy", "we", "us", or "our" in these terms, we mean the FixGuy business and its technician. When we say "you" or "customer", we mean the person booking or receiving our services.

Our Services

FixGuy provides onsite computer repair and tech support services by appointment only. Services include but are not limited to:

  • MacBook and iMac repair
  • Laptop and PC repair
  • Virus and malware removal
  • Hardware upgrades (RAM, SSD)
  • Data recovery
  • Device tune-ups
  • Network and workstation setup
  • Custom PC builds

All services are provided at the customer's home or business location within our 20-mile service radius in North Dallas.

Booking an Appointment

All repairs are by appointment only. You can book by calling us, texting us, or filling out the contact form on our website.

When you book an appointment, please be available at the agreed time. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know at least 2 hours before your scheduled appointment.

FixGuy reserves the right to reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances. We will always notify you as early as possible if this happens.

Pricing and Payment

We provide a price estimate before starting any repair work. You will always know what the repair costs before we begin. Payment is due at the time of service once the repair is completed.

Additional charges may apply if the repair turns out to be more complex than originally estimated. We will always discuss any price changes with you before proceeding.

What we quote is what you pay — unless we discuss and agree on changes with you first.

Free Diagnostics

FixGuy offers free diagnostics under certain conditions. A free diagnostic means we will assess your device and tell you what the problem is at no charge.

Free diagnostics apply when the customer proceeds with the recommended repair and the repair falls within our standard service offerings.

If you choose not to proceed with a repair after a free diagnostic, a diagnostic fee may apply. This will always be discussed with you at the time of the visit.

No Fix, No Fee Policy

If we are unable to fix your device, you will not be charged for the repair attempt. This applies under the following conditions:

  • The device was presented in the same condition as described when booking
  • No physical damage was caused by the customer after our visit
  • The issue falls within a standard repair that we attempted
Some complex repairs — such as data recovery or logic board repairs — may require a diagnostic or attempt fee even if unsuccessful. This will always be communicated upfront before work begins.

Repair Warranty

Most repairs completed by FixGuy come with a 6-month limited warranty. This means if the same problem returns within 6 months, we will fix it again at no extra charge.

The warranty covers the specific issue that was repaired. It does not cover:

  • New or unrelated damage after the repair
  • Accidental or physical damage
  • Liquid damage
  • Issues caused by third-party software or hardware
The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original customer and device repaired.

Your Responsibilities as a Customer

When you book a service with FixGuy, you agree to:

  • Back up your own data before our technician arrives — FixGuy is not responsible for data loss during a repair
  • Provide accurate information about your device and the problem
  • Be present or have an authorized adult present during the repair
  • Ensure a safe and accessible working environment for our technician
  • Pay for services as agreed upon before work begins

Your Data and Privacy

FixGuy takes your privacy seriously. During a repair, our technician may need to access your device to diagnose and fix the problem. We will only access what is necessary to complete the repair.

We do not store, copy, share, or sell any personal data from your device. Any personal information you provide when booking — such as your name, address, and contact details — is used only to schedule and complete your repair.

We do not share your personal information with any third parties.

Limitation of Liability

FixGuy will always do its best to repair your device carefully and professionally. However, we limit our liability in the following situations:

  • FixGuy is not responsible for data loss — always back up your data before any repair
  • FixGuy is not liable for pre-existing damage present before our visit
  • FixGuy is not responsible for issues caused by third-party software or hardware installed after our repair
  • Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the specific repair in question
We always communicate risks before starting any repair so you can make an informed decision.

Changes to These Terms

FixGuy may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after any changes means you accept the updated terms.

We recommend checking this page occasionally so you're always aware of our current terms.
